Patents are technical property rights examined by the Patent Office for novelty, inventive step and industrial applicability. Patents can be applied for products and methods. In order to prepare a patent application, it is first necessary to have a precise understanding of your invention. Upon request and if necessary, we will conduct searches for prior art that is contrary to your invention. We advise you whether a patent application makes sense and what could be protected. Own technical developments very often contain an invention in the sense of patent law. We prepare your patent application and record not only the basic idea but also the fine ramifications of your invention. We develop application strategies that protect your invention beyond Germany, taking into account the financial budget you have made available. I represent your German (DE applications), European (EP applications) and international patent applications (PCT applications). I supervise your grant procedures and I am happy to respond to your examination notices in consultation with you. I regularly represent clients in oral proceedings before the EPO and DPMA.

Conversely, I have extensive experience in attacking patent applications and patents. I have represented more than 30 opposition and opposition appeal proceedings before the DPMA or the EPO as lead patent attorney.
