The Employee Invention Act governs the rights to service inventions. In principle, the right to an invention lies with the inventor. The Employee Invention Act stipulates that the employee inventor must report the invention to the employer. The employer has the option of claiming the invention, but must pay the employee an invention remuneration in return.
